  • Making Uncle Kirk Happy

Posted on July 31st, 2009 Ty 2 comments

My uncle Kirk takes pictures of us doggies and he is very proud of them. Here is a picture he took of me on his back porch:

And here is a picture that he took of the Molly:

He was very disappointed that I didn’t share his masterpiece photo of my doggie puke that I made when I visited him. So now I am going to share it just to make him happy. But because this is a family friendly little dog with no tail blog, I am going to make a link to it instead of putting it on the front page.

Click here to see the graphic puke photo.

Hopefully uncle Kirk will be happy with me now and be so happy that he uses this link to donates money to PAWS Chicago. Mommy is running a marathon and a half marathon to raise moneys for them!

This is Molly posting today! I’m a shelter dog and I like this nice article written by a fellow shelter dog with the help of a human named Janine Allen.  I adopted Ty’s Mommy many years ago. Here is a picture of me in my garden (even though Ty thinks the tomatoes belong to him).

I RESCUED A HUMAN TODAY by Janine Allen

Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her.

I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn’t be afraid. As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn’t want her to know that I hadn’t been walked today. Sometimes the overworked shelter keepers get too busy and I didn’t want her to think poorly of them.

As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn’t feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone’s life.

She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well.

Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms.

I would promise to keep her safe.
I would promise to always be by her side.
I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes.

I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven’t walked the corridors. So many more to be saved. At least I could save one.

    I rescued a human today.

  • The Upstairs Closet

I gots my own closet. It looks like my playpen in Mommy’s office but it is upstairs and the door stays open  just enough that the Molly can’t gets inside of it and eat my puppy food. I keep my closet kind of messy–I’m just a short little dog with no tail, so I can’t hang up my puppy blankies.

See all that stuff in there? I hides everything from the Molly in my closet. I take my favorite toys and boney chewy treats in there. Here I am enjoying my boney chewy treat where the Molly can’t take it away from me. My next floppy toy identification project is in there too.

Some of the toys and boneys in there belong to the Molly. Don’t tell her about them!

This bunny friend visited my front yard. Isn’t she cute? I likes to hop like a bunny sometimes.

But the bunny friend was really bad! She made a mess! I don’t even make yard messes that big!

I think Daddy isn’t going to be happy about this!

Update: I was right. Daddy was not at all happy with the bad bunny.

I has lots of toys. Mommy and Daddy put them in a basket for me and the Molly.

    Doggie toy basket

Here I am picking my favorite floppy emu out of the basket. We founds out that it really is an ostrich, but I don’t know hows to spell that.  I don’t ever take the scary chicken or pig out to play.

I take out lots of toys and chase thems around the floor. When I’m done I lie down because they make me all tired.

Mommy says I am spoiled, but I disagree. I think I smells pretty fresh after my last water torture and I don’t knows what that gots to do with my toys anyway.
